From the expansive, first-floor makuti-covered veranda you can watch the dhows come and go, collecting sand and delivering fish. The house is designed along traditional lines around an inner courtyard, which holds a very private swimming pool, cooling the public rooms and bedrooms.

Jahazi House accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 rooms: 4 ensuite bedrooms each with a private terrace + 1 master suite overlooking the courtyard pool. The four ground-floor guest bedrooms are all accessed from the inner courtyard and are stylishly furnished with en-suite shower rooms and their own private verandas.

The rooftop terrace is partially covered with makuti and provides a shaded bar, eating, and sitting area. There are each side terraces with sofas, tables, and chairs. The house features a well-equipped kitchen that serves meals prepared from the freshest local produce and seafood.
