Garden House Lamu in Shela has two double rooms en suite. During centuries, these islands have welcomed travelers and traders from the Indian Ocean, the Swahili culture is build on these rich and fascinating historical influences.

Shella beach is a white sandy beach of 13 km. Lamu is a destination that will satisfy guests looking for white sandy beach, water sports, cultural encounter with Swahili community and historical visit in Lamu Town (UNESCO world patrimonial heritage site).

Garden House Lamu in Shela is privately owned and is built in pure Swahili Style and furnished with antiques. The cooks, stewards, and managers are entirely devoted to our guests' service.

Garden House Lamu cooks are trained to do all guests food errands and prepare all meals. Guests can select their meals from our guideline menu and they will be served in their private dining area. Food is charged at cost and recorded in a book of accounts.

Garden House Lamu is located in Shela village on Lamu Island off the north eastern coast of Kenya. The house offers luxury accommodation for up to four people, and all your needs will be attended to by the staff to ensure a relaxing holiday.

Garden House Lamu features two large bedrooms and is fully staffed with chefs, stewards, laundry ladies, captains, and managers for your convenience.

Garden House Lamu cook is trained to run all errands and prepares all meals for you. You can select your meals from our guideline menu and will be served in a private dining area. Food is charged at cost and recorded in a book of accounts.

Garden House Lamu offers a true island feel with a large garden and amazing views to the ocean. We will ensure that you are met at the Manda/ Lamu airport by one of our staff members who will escort you to the traditional boat and drive you to Shela. From here you will also be escorted to the house.

Lamu Island offers a variety of festivals throughout the year and has many activities to keep you busy. Guests can snorkel on the reefs or swim with the dolphins, enjoy a sunset cruise or simply explore the island. All activities can be arranged through the house manager on your request.
