Detailed Itinerary

Nairobi Arrival
Upon arrival in Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and after clearing with customs and immigration, you will be met by your African Spice Safari Director Driver Guide at the arrival area who will transfer you to your city hotel.

Day 2
Nairobi City tour
After breakfast, you begin your day with safari briefing on all the adventures ahead of you. Today’s tour starts with city tour, visit to the National Museum, Next is a city tour with a stop at Kiambethu Farms where lunch is enjoyed in the family homestead, hosted by the original settler’s granddaughter. You will learn history of Africa culture, cradle of mankind and countless wonders of the natural world, then visit to the Giraffe Centre where you will have the opportunity to feed the endangered Rothschild giraffe. After lunch you will visit Karen Blixen, the original house where the movie, Out of Africa was filmed, and then return to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 3
Nairobi – Fly Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, we drive to Wilson Airport for our scheduled early morning flight to Amboseli National Park. This Park is famous for the big herds of elephants and the view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. The snow capped peak sometimes is covered by clouds. Lunch is served and you have some time to relax or enjoy the sun heated swimming pool before leaving for another 'Spice' game drive this afternoon. We will be back in time for warm shower or may be a drink before dinner.

Day 4
Amboseli National Park

Two game drives are scheduled for this day, early morning and afternoon run. The open flat plains are ideal places to search for the buffaloes, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, zebras, hippos, and wildebeests. The swamps are ideal places to spot the elephants. There is also a wealth and diversity of bird’s species. Also discover Africa culture by visiting a local Maasai village.

Day 5
Amboseli – Fly Nairobi – Fly Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast, today you fly to Samburu Game Reserve via Nairobi. You have the opportunity to see the unique five. Wildlife found only in the northern frontier that is, Gerenuk, Grevy’s zebras, Oryx, Reticulated giraffes and the Somali Ostrich. This is Kenya’s semi-arid region characterized by vast, open landscape which also includes dried river beds, red volcanic soil, rock outcropping, river acacia trees and palm trees. Your luxury lodge accommodations are along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River famous for its big crocodiles. A game drive is planned for you this afternoon.

Day 6
Samburu Game Reserve
Two game drives are planned for today and some leisure time in between for you to enjoy the sun heated swimming pool. You also have an optional visit to the Samburu people’s village who are cousins to the Maasai.

Day 7
Samburu Game Reserve – Fly Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Your dream comes true today as you fly over the Great Rift Valley to the famous Masai Mara. Here we may savour a Bush Walk with an expert naturalist guide, experiencing the world of the Mara from the ground up— an invigorating opportunity to stretch our legs and be a part of the land. Or we may try a Hot-Air Balloon Safari. Our accommodations are equally superlative at the Mara Serena Lodge. .This is the real Africa you imagine. It is the home to astonishing numbers of animals (depending on the season), the umbrella shaped trees, the beautiful sun set, the winding Mara River, the rugged Ololoolo Escarpment. The next two nights we will be spending in the vast eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five. You also have an optional balloon safari or fishing trip to Lake Victoria, the largest fresh water lake in Africa and also the source of River Nile.

Day 8
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. We also visit a Maasai village and glimpse life so ancient and yet so enduring that it astonishes. The true pinnacle of our journey to the Mara however will be Bush Sundowners—a civilized cocktail party staged in the untamed wilds of Africa.

Day 9
Masaai Mara Game Reserve – Fly Nairobi (Day room) Depart

A short flight to Nairobi this morning and our adventure draws to a close. We highly suggest a visit to a children's Orphanage to bring your African journey full circle. A dayroom is available until departure for international flights this evening.
