Thomson Falls 'Spice' safari offers a chance to
explore Kenya's best and most pristine wildlife habitats
on an itinerary designed for fun. Whether you are
celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, wedding
anniversary or just simply taking time off to spend
quality time with your friends or family, this is
the perfect safari adventure because every traveler
will be kept interested and energized.
The program begins and ends in Nairobi and includes
a ride among Elephants in Amboseli, Aberdare - ancient
relics of Africa to Samburu -a magic of remote avid-zone
wilderness to Sweetwaters Game Reserve -rhino haven,
then to Nakuru National Park -sanctuary for rarities
and exotic animals. The grand finale is the Maasai
Mara, Kenya's finest and outstanding Reserve of biological
diversity. A total of 4 time saving domestic flights
spare you from long overland transfers and provide
superb vintage points for viewing wildlife from the
air.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Nairobi
Arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi,
a 'Spice' Tour Leader will greet you and whisk you
to your hotel. No waiting, your room accommodations
will be made in advance at The Intercontinental hotel,
The Norfolk or The Serena Hotel where you can relax
the night away.
Day 2: Explore Nairobi City
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at your hotel. A Safari
briefing offers a chance to be acquainted with fellow
traveler and your 'Spice' Tour Leader. Travel to the
Heart of the city where you can shop for an authentic
Safari outfit or browse the local stores. The city
tour takes you to Nairobi's ancient landmark buildings-
Parliament buildings, Kenyatta International Conference
center and to a lookout point where a spectacular
view of the city of Nairobi awaits you. The highlight
of the tour is a visit to Daphne Sheldrick's animal
orphanage, which helps to rehabilitate severely traumatized
orphaned baby animals thus enabling them to live their
natural lifestyle once reintroduced into the wild.
Baby Elephants, Rhino's and others are available for
close views.
Lunch will be served at the Kiambethu Tea farm House-a
private home to four generations of the first family
to plant and make tea in Kenya. After lunch a visit
to the fascinating Giraffe Center enables you to come
face to face with the Rothschild Giraffe and have
the pleasure of hand feeding with Giraffe food. Karen
Blixen Museum- home of the Authoress of 'Out of Africa'
is also planned. Return to your hotel in time to relax
before dinner. African Spice Safaris invites you to
a welcome cocktail party where you can meet fellow

Day 3: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Rising early to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the
hotel, you will then proceed to Wilson Airport and
fly to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival, you will
set out on a mid-morning 'Spice' game drive exploring
a Park that is famous for large herds of Elephants
and breath-taking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Check-in
to your lodge and lunch follows. Watch animals from
the open veranda's or you may wish to take a quick
dip in the pool or relax in your comfortable room.
A late afternoon 'Spice' game drive is on the itinerary
followed by returning to the lodge and enjoy a scrumptious
dinner.

Day 4: Explore Amboseli National Park
Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before
the cloud builds up over the summit, we set off for
an early Morning 'Spice' game drive. A complete English
breakfast is served at the lodge upon return. The
Maasai tribe lives in this region. We fully experience
the true flavor of their culture by visiting their
traditional village, and return to the lodge for lunch.
Another late evening 'Spice' game drive is planned
and then complete your perfect African day with a
wonderful meal.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park to Aberdare
Country Club
After an early breakfast, depart on a scheduled flight
to Nairobi. Drive through hilly farmland to the Aberdare
Country Club arriving in time for lunch. The Club
was built in 1937 and is reminiscent of an old British
Club with its big stone replaces. Enjoy the rest of
the day by relaxing by the pool, playing Golf or Tennis,
Horse back riding or participate in a night game drive
at the Club's Sanctuary.

Day 6: Aberdare Country Club to Samburu
Game Reserve
Today we drive North past Isiolo town to Samburu Game
Reserve semi-arid bush country. With it's backdrop
of rocky out crops and prominent mountain ranges to
the North, and it's Doum Palms and Riverine forest,
Samburu National Reserve has an exotic feel in it.
After check-in to our lodge on the banks of the Ewaso
Nyiro river, we have lunch and a late afternoon 'spice
game drive introduces us to the unique species of
this Northern Frontier District. Here, you will see
the Gerenuk Gazelle, Grevy's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe,
Oryx Antelope, Somali Ostrich and much more.

Day 7: Discover Samburu Game Reserve
Spend the morning and afternoon on 'Spice' game drives
where we are likely to see Elephant, Giraffe, lion
and hopefully the elusive Leopard. In between the
'Spice' game drives, you have an opportunity to visit
a local Samburu School, and just before the African
sunset, we enjoy watching a Crocodile feeding session
along the river by our lodge.

Day 8: Samburu Game Reserve to Sweetwaters
Private Sanctuary
This morning after breakfast, we drive overland Southwards
to the Equator on Nanyuki town to Sweetwaters Private
Sanctuary arriving in good time for lunch. The Camp
offers authentic Safari tents with magnificent views
across the plains to the snow capped peaks of Mount
Kenya.
Built in the early 70's, the main building was originally
the residence of billionaire Adnan Khashoggi's ranch
manager. Today the 26 appointed luxurious tents overlook
a water hole, a haven for thirsty wildlife and is
floodlit by night. Camel ride opportunities are available
and night game drives are popular. Zebra Giraffe,
Buffalo and a variety of antelopes populate the Private
ranch. Here too, the Jane Goodall institute operates
a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary. A talk and the
opportunity to take a short boat ride with the resident
naturalist to observe some of the Chimps will be conducted.
A visit to a Rhino homestead is also planned where
you will meet 'Morani' (which means 'warrior' in Maasai
language) the Black Rhino and have a chance to pet

Day 9: Sweetwaters Private Sanctuary to
Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park is the destination today.
The Park's lake is well known for hundreds of thousands
of Flamingos. After breakfast, we drive through the
Great Rift Valley stopping at one of the highest towns
in Kenya, Nyahururu at an elevation of 7700 feet.
The main attraction here is the 236 foot Thomson Falls.
Part of the Ewaso Nyiro river, these cascading falls
tumble to the thick forest below.
After lunch at our lodge, an afternoon 'Spice game
drive is planned where one could see both the White
and Black Rhino, Rothschild Giraffe and it is almost
a guarantee to see the elusive leopard here.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru National Park to Maasai
Mara Game Reserve
Enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and
proceeding on a morning 'Spice game drive en route
to Nairobi. A pleasant drive across the dramatic Great
Rift Valley brings you to Nairobi for Lunch. Transfer
you to Wilson Airport for a Short flight to Maasai
Mara Game Reserve. This enormous Reserve actually
part of the vast Serengeti plains is famously known
for it's spectacular great wildebeest migration and
is home to the big Five -Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Cape
Buffalo and Leopard. A 'Spice game drive will be conducted
upon arrival then proceed to the Camp/lodge for an
enjoyable dinner.

Day 11-12: Maasai Mara National Reserve
We spend two full Days in the Maasai Mara-one of the
greatest wildernesses of the world on morning and
afternoon game drives. Large mammals are varied, abundant
and easy to see. Residents among the Park's Mammals
are; Maasai Giraffe, Eland, Topi and thousands of
plain Game including Impala, Zebra, both Thomson and
Grant's Gazelles. Optional Hot Air Balloon rides and
a trip to Lake Victoria for fishing are available
at an additional cost while in the Maasai Mara. On
your final evening in the Mara, you say goodbye to
Africa with a unique, colorful farewell dinner.

Day 13: Maasai Mara Game Reserve to Nairobi
An early morning 'Spice' game drive is planned before
returning to your camp/lodge for a proper sit down English
breakfast. After breakfast, we fly to Nairobi and check-in
to our hotel for day room use where the rest of the
day is at leisure for last minute shopping and sight
seeing. In the evening you will be escorted to the Airport
for flight check-in and then dinner before you board
your plane that takes you home with a smile and a lifetime
of memories.
