Emakoko Nairobi Wildlife Lodge is a 20 bed lodge located on the Mbagathi River below the Emakoko River junction in Nairobi. The accommodation comes in 2 double cottages (8 beds) and 6 single cottages (12 beds).

Emma and Anthony Childs have finally returned home to manage a lodge which is the best of both worlds – bush and city all in one! They look forward to welcoming you either as a first-time visitor or as a returning friend.

Emakoko Nairobi Wildlife Lodge allows people to start and finish their safari in the wildlife environment they have traveled so far to enjoy. Within 20 minutes of clearing customs they can be viewing game in Nairobi National park.

The only transfer delays likely to be encountered en route to or from The Emakoko are the natural pauses to watch a pride of lions or waiting for a Rhino or journey of Giraffe to cross the road.

Emakoko Nairobi Wildlife Lodge beautifully appointed rooms look out over the game park so one can fall asleep to the sounds of Africa, a lion roaring or the cry of a lone hyena, an amazing contrast to the sounds of traffic, ambulances, fire engines and dogs barking which are the normal sounds of any sleeping city.

Emakoko Nairobi Wildlife Lodge has an open, airy and informal environment has been created to allow our guests to escape from the pressures of everyday life. Whether you are enjoying an Emakoko cocktail in the viewing area or simply a coffee by the pool overlooking the river, relaxation is assured.

Emakoko Nairobi Wildlife Lodge Activities

Game-Drives

The Emakoko is situated on the Nairobi park boundary and we have direct access into the park, this is where all Emakoko game drives take place. The Emakoko has 4 Toyota Land cruisers, converted especially for game viewing.

The Emakoko guides are also KPSGA qualified and have a huge amount of knowledge on the flora and fauna in the area.

Helicopters Trips

The Emakoko has a helipad on the grounds and therefore there is no need for transfers to any airports, the helicopters will pick you up from the lodge.

The Helicopters available are a Euro copter EC130, ad Bell 407 and a Bell 206B3. All of these can take guests up Mt. Kenya for a spot of trout fishing, perhaps a trip to the Mara and even a flight to the beautiful Magadi area.

Shopping Excursions

Nairobi is just around the corner for those who need to get last minute items. Although our boutique is fully stocked, we would be happy to take you to any of the local shopping areas in Nairobi.

The Emakoko driver guides are not only wildlife specialists, but they also understand the art of bargaining.

David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the most unique elephant & rhino relocation program in the world. Based in Nairobi, The Sheldrick Trust opens its doors to the public to view the orphans between 11am – 12pm.
