Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge sits directly on the unspoiled beach of Lake Turkana amongst the palm trees that flourish around the clear water of the spring.

Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge includes 6 luxury and unique Turkana bomas, a well stocked bar with cold drinks, an open dining room, the Palm tree bar, the massage corner, a swimming pool, motor boats and fishing equipment.

A boma contains a main house (the biggest ever built Turkana hut) with double bed and some furniture, a verandah facing the Lake, a tiled bathroom and a space for relaxing, sunbath and pleasure.

Lake Turkana invites all sorts of water sports and the nearby (25 kilometers) and unique Central Island National Park can be visited straight from the Resort.

Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge Camp-site Accommodation

Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge has a huge compound leaves a lot of space for camping. You can pitch a tent between the sand dunes, under palm-trees or wherever you want.

Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge camp-site has a shop, toilets and bathrooms, a small dining-area and a kitchen with staff.- Full equipped tents can be rented, as well as small Turkana huts(Manyatta) with double beds (10), or the self contained spacious rooms with 2 double beds each.

Kindly book any activity through African Spice Safaris to avoid dealing with unknown people. Lake Turkana can be very rough and any boats activities depend on the situation in the lake.

Visit of Central Island National Park
Be prepared for a hot time; a hat and sun cream is a must as well as trousers and long sleeve shirt if you have delicate skin. Carry enough drinking water with you(is provided and included with the speed boat).

The boats from the Eliye Youth group are operated under their own management. Eliye Springs Resort gives the operators of the youth group the freedom to do the boat business within the lodge compound, does however not take any responsibility.

Full body massage in our open-air "massage saloon", 1 hour, 1,500 Kenya Shillings. Exercise with the Swiss Gymnastic ball. In every Boma you find the gymnastic ball together with instructions. Feel free to relax your body through the exercises with the ball.

Drive to a nearby Turkana Boma, visit local manyatta's, 1 hour 5,000 (3,000 Kenya Shillings with your own car)

You take the road from Kitale-Kapenguria-Marich Pass-Kainuk-Lokichar-Lodwar-Eliye Springs. The distance from Kitale to Eliye Springs is 350 kiloemeters (about 8 hours).

There are bus services from Kitale to Lodwar with Eldoret Express, Dayah and Fomoco. Eliye Springs signboards keep you informed all the way from Kainuk to Eliye Springs.

The road is mainly a rough road from Marich pass all the way to Lodwar. The last 46 km before Eliye Springs has few sandy parts, especially after Eliye airstrip which is about 8 km from the Eliye Springs Resort. In case you find yourself in loose sand, don't hesitate and drive fluently.

When it rains (you can inform yourself in Eliye bookings office) you need a 4WD vehicle.

Eliye Springs Camp & Lodge By plane

Fly 540 offers daily flights from Nairobi through Kitale to Lodwar and back. ALS flies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Nairobi direct to Lodwar and back.

Several charter companies i.e Yellow Wings, Aero Club, Safari Link offer flights direct to Eliye airstrip. Transfers to and from Eliye Springs Resort can be done by the Lodge vehicle (call the bookings office).
