BIRD WATCHING SAFARI
Spend four Days in the luxurious Kichwa Tembo Tented
Camp overlooking the endless game-filled plains of
the Masai Mara
Overlooking the endless game-filled plains of the
Masai Mara and shaded by a dense forest canopy, Kichwa
Tembo Tented Camp is an oasis of Hemingway-style tents
and stone cottages below the Oloololo escarpment.
Expert guides and resident naturalists will reveal
the wonders of the Mara and bring alive the magic
of untouched Africa as it was hundreds of years ago,
on interpretive ‘Spice’ game drives.
DAY 1 Nairobi-Masai Mara Reserve
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
you will be transferred to our local domestic airport
called Wilson Airport to fly to the Kichwa Tembo Camp.
Kichwa Tembo Camp staff are amongst the friendliest
in Africa - and before long you will be whisked away
to your tent. Depending on what time you arrive -
enjoy lunch at the lodge before meeting your guide
for tea and set out on an afternoon ‘Spice’
game drive. Kichwa Tembo Camp has some of the finest
safari landrovers in the Mara and the open sided vehicles
give you a spectacular view of the wildlife and birdlife.
Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Meal
Plan {B, L, D}.
DAY 2 Masai Mara
Today you will be woken up early as tea and coffee
is brought directly to your tent. Depart for your
early morning ‘Spice’ game drive. Kichwa
Tembo is located close to the Mara River and during
the Migration months it is not unusual to witness
spectacular river crossings not far from the camp.
Return to the lodge for a sumptuous buffet breakfast.
Kichwa has beautifully manicured lawns and you may
choose to relax around the pool area before lunch.
An afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive before
returning to the camp for dinner. Meal Plan {B, L,
D}
DAY 3 Masai Mara
Another very early start this morning, with tea or
coffee brought to your room. You will be met and transferred
to the Balloon Safari launch site where you will witness
the experts inflating Rainbow colored hot-air balloons.
Conditions in this area of the Mara means that abandoned
flights are rare and you can enjoy one of the finest
and spectacular balloon flights in the world. Following
the Mara River downstream the skilled pilot will land
before the Mara flows into the Serengeti! Beware the
landing is a bit bumpy but a Champagne Breakfast and
Certificate Ceremony await you. Return to the lodge
for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Entertainment
is provided each evening either Masai Dancers and
a Craft Market or an informative talk by the resident
Environmentalist. Meal Plan {B, L, D}.
DAY 4 Day of Departure
Last day at Kichwa Tembo. After your final morning
game drive you will return for breakfast before being
transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight
to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. In Nairobi you will

for alternative plans. Meal Plan {B}.
