ABERDARE-LAKE NAKURU-MASAI MARA (5 /Days
4 Nights)
This safari takes you to three very different game
viewing Parks namely: Aberdare, Lake Nakuru and the
Masai Mara. In the Aberdares, you find icy rivers,
spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. Elephants,
buffalos and other animals visit you at the floodlit
waterholes of The Ark/Mountain Lodge/treetops. Lake
Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's
and the over 400 species of birds found here. This
soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley is host
to millions of flamingos and an important refuge for
endangered species- particularly Rothschild Giraffe
and Black and White Rhino.
The Grand finale is the Masai Mara, Kenya is most
famous and finest game sanctuary. The Mara offers
wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is
difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals
have been recorded here. You have a chance of seeing
the Big Five- Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard and Elephant.
The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal
area of the Game Reserve.
Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare
This morning you drive past Thika, an industrial town
surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations, partially
owned by Delmonte Company. After crossing the Tana
River source of Kenya’s hydroelectric power,
the landscape changes and becomes lush as you climb
in to the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu people. Lunch
is served at Out-Span Hotel in Nyeri for the visitors
heading for Treetops and Aberdare Country Club for
those heading to the Ark Limited. Lunch is served
at the Serena Mountain lodge for those spending a
night there.
After lunch, you proceed to your tree hotel where
the night is spent watching different animals as they
come to visit the floodlit waterholes and Saltlicks.
Elephants, Rhino, Buffalo, Giant Forest Hog, Leopard
and many other species frequent the waterholes. Meal
plan: {L, D}

Park

the base hotel. Then proceed to Lake Nakuru National
Park in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge/Lake
Nakuru Lodge. Relax before departing for an afternoon
‘Spice’ game drive.
Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's
and the over 400 species of birds found here. The
lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift
valley. The sight of millions of flamingos is quite
spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed
in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as
an important haven for endangered species- particularly
the Rothschild Giraffe and the Black and white Rhino.
Lions, Waterbuck, Buffalo and Baboons are all residents
here. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge/Lake
Nakuru Lodge. Meal plan {B, L, D}
Day 3: Lake Nakuru –Masai Mara
Breakfast at the lodge then drive via the Great Rift
Valley to arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch at
Mara Sarova Camp/Mara Simba Lodge/Mara Sopa Lodge
/ Mara Serena Lodge.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance

of animals have been recorded here. You will easily
see Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffe, Wildebeests,
Zebras, Buffalo, Warthogs, Hyenas, Jackals, Wild dogs,
Buffalo, Leopard and a variety of antelopes. It is
in the Mara that the most spectacular event of the
natural wonders of the world takes place. This is
the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and
zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water
and pasture. Behind their heels are predators of the
savanna- Lion, Cheetah, Wild dog, Jackal, Hyena and
Vultures. Depart for an afternoon ‘Spice’
game drive until dusk.
Meal Plan {B, L, D}.
Day 4: Explore Masai Mara
We spend a full day in the Masai Mara on morning and
afternoon ‘Spice’ game drives. The trees
in the distance might turn out to be a family of Giraffes.
Those clump of bushes a pride of Lions, and the rock
that moves a Rhino lumbering out of your way. With
diligence and some luck, you may encounter a family
of Cheetahs, or a herd of Elephants crossing the path
in front of you. Large animals are not the only entertainment
- a family of warthogs may amuse you, running as fast
as their little legs will carry them, until they forget
why they are rushing and stop to regroup. Dinner and
overnight. Simba Lodge/Keekorok Lodge/Mara Serena
Lodge Meal plan {B, L, D}.
