to Solio Game Reserve is a perfect holiday for 3 days
for those who like to enjoy activities like horseback
riding, bush walks, mountain-biking, night and day game
drives and fishing trips to Mount Kenya and the Aberdare
Mountains.
Helicopter
rides are also available and can be arranged. They are
a perfect way to see the diverse landscape that Kenya
has to offer. You could also take a short trip from
Solio Lodge to Mt Kenya for breakfast. Spa treatments
are available in the comfort of your own room.
Your
stay will be at the luxurious Rhino
Watch Lodge - a new lodge in Nyeri located on Nyeri/
Nyahururu highway. The private 17,500-acre Solio Game
Reserve is located 22 kilometers north of Nyeri town
and plays a major part in preserving and breeding black
Rhinos in Kenya. Most of the hook-lipped horned beasts
wandering in Many Kenyan national parks were actually
born here.
Solio
Game Reserve also
supports a very diverse population of raptors. The ranch
still lies within a greater area of indigenous woodland
that buffers the effect of man a perfect place for conservation
efforts. At Solio the contrast in topography and wildlife
in this 18,000 acre reserve is stunning.
Huge
stands of yellow acacia compliment the higher rolling
plains whilst a bountiful marsh, Solio's lifeline, bisects
the sanctuary. Over 120 black and white rhinos live
here.
Most
of the plains species can be seen here, the predators,
lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, as well as two northern
species, the reticulated giraffe and the beisa oryx.

Itinerary
Day
1: Nairobi - Drive to Aberdare Rhino Watch Lodge
+ Giraffe Walk
Depart Nairobi by road
to Rhino Watch and arrive before for Lunch. After Check
in we have lunch at Rhino Watch, then drive for 10 minutes
to a sanctuary.
We
go for a 3 hour Walk with the Giraffes, Zebras Warthogs
and Various species of Antelopes.

2 : Explore Solio
Game Reserve
Departure at 06:45 Hours:
To Solio Conservancy Game Drive. Return to the Lodge
for lunch. At 16:00 we depart for the night game drive
and sundown trip. Equipped with spots we look for the
"nightlife in the bush".
We
offer a snack on board and a light dinner after returning
to the lodge.

3: Solio Ranch – Drive to Nairobi
Departure at 06:45 Hours: We either go
