The Masai Mara (also spelt Maasai Mara) is widely considered to be Africa’s greatest wildlife Reserve and is the best place to see the “Big Five” animals (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) together. The famous wildebeest migration also takes place at the Mara.

Resident animals include hippos, crocodiles, Zebras, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, hartebeests, jackals, white-bearded gnus, warthogs, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, bat-eared foxes, Topi, and others.
The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Birdlife is as plentiful as wildlife at the Masai Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species. Aside from the standard game drives, the Masai Mara has a variety of activities.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve
0800 Hours: This morning after breakfast at your hotel/ residence, we transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve.
1000 Hours: Flight departs for the Masai Mara Game Reserve (50 minutes)
1100 Hours: Arrive in the Masai Mara and proceed on a game drive en route to your lodge/ camp.
1230 Hours: Check-in at the lodge/ camp and lunch follows.
1530 Hours: We enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate before departing for the afternoon game drive.
The Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The reserve is home to most of the popular safari animals, but the black rhino and cheetah populations are dangerously low.
Wildebeest is the dominant animal, followed by Thomson Gazelles and zebras. You will also see a lot of giraffes, hyenas, and ostrich. The best time to go there may be between July and October when enormous hordes of wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras are migrating in from Serengeti in Tanzania.
1830 Hours: Return to the camp/ lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today we will be spending in the vast eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five and much more. You also have an optional balloon safari. Game viewing is great from the air with the opportunity for beautiful pictures.
The annual wildebeest migration is expected in the Masai Mara between July and early November. Millions of animals migrate to the Mara from Serengeti in search of fresh green pastures and water.
It’s worth noting that every game drive is different from the other, and missing one is missing out on the fun. For bird lovers, the Mara birds come in every colour and size. More than 400 bird species have already been recorded, including birds of prey.
You could step back in time and visit a Maasai village where you get a chance to interact with the Maasai people in their traditional setting and experience their culture. Guided walking tours and safaris conducted by a Masai warrior outside the reserve are also available.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Fly to Nairobi
0600 Hours: If you are not participating in the hot air balloon you enjoy morning tea/ coffee or hot chocolate followed by a morning game drive. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia trees.
0900 Hours: Return to the lodge/ camp for breakfast.
1000 Hours: We transfer you to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi.
1100 Hours: Fly back to Nairobi.
1200 Hours: Upon arrival at Wilson airport we transfer you to your hotel/ residence.
